Misty mountains, ancient kingdoms, and the temples few travellers ever discover. Chiang Mai, the highland villages, and the sacred confluence of three nations — entirely yours.
The Journey
Beyond Bangkok's glittering skyline lies a world of misty mountains and ancient kingdoms. In the north, where the Lanna dynasty once reigned, saffron-robed monks gather at dawn for alms-giving, teak forests part to reveal hidden villages, and time moves to the rhythm of slow rivers.
This is not the Thailand of guidebooks. This is the Thailand of private trekking paths, cultural immersion with hill tribe artisans, and dinner beneath the stars at the confluence of three nations. We take you where few travellers venture — through the sacred and the serene, entirely yours.
"The north compresses centuries into days. We make those days feel like a lifetime."
Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai — before the city wakes
Day by Day
Each day is tailored to you. This is a framework — your SALA curator will shape every detail around your pace and passions.
Days 1 – 2
Chiang Mai · Lanna Old City
Your private driver meets you at the airport and delivers you to your villa. The first full day is given to the old city — Wat Phra Singh at dawn before the monks depart, a private tuk-tuk tour through the Saturday Walking Street, and introductions to artisans who work in silver, silk, and teak. An evening rooftop dinner as the city settles into temple bells.
Days 3 – 4
Doi Inthanon · 2,565 Metres
A private 4WD ascends to Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest peak, where cloud forests and sacred twin chedis emerge from the mist. Your expert guide leads cultural immersion with hill tribe communities — not a tourist stop, but a genuine introduction to artisans who have shaped this landscape for generations. Evenings bring natural hot springs and mountain lodge dining.
Days 5 – 6
Chiang Rai · Ancient Lanna
A private car journey through emerald valleys delivers you to Chiang Rai. Exclusive dawn access to Wat Rong Khun — the White Temple — before the gates open to the public: silence, white geometry, and a moment that belongs only to you. Afternoon brings a private longtail boat journey on the Kok River through teak landscapes, and direct introductions to Chiang Rai's craftspeople.
Days 7 – 8
Golden Triangle · Three Nations
A private boat along the Mekong at the sacred confluence of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar — three rivers, three nations, one impossibly still moment. A sunset ascent to a ridge where three countries spread below you. A traditional Lanna farewell dinner with live classical Thai music, followed by a private departure blessing from local monks.
What's Included
Private viewing of saffron-robed monks collecting alms at Wat Phra Singh as the city awakens — a ritual unchanged for 700 years, witnessed in silence.
Cultural immersion with expert guides — artisans, not a tourist attraction. Stories and traditions shared across a table, not through a glass barrier.
Ethical, private access to observe elephants in their natural setting. No riding. No performance. Just magnificent creatures, at their own pace, in your company.
A private longtail along the legendary river at the three-country confluence as day turns to dusk — three nations visible, the river ancient and slow beneath you.
Exclusive morning access to Wat Rong Khun before the crowds arrive — white geometry against a pale sky, meditative, sacred, and utterly serene.
Traditional northern Thai cuisine and live classical piphat music — a ceremonial goodbye to the mountains that stays with you long after you've left.
Where You Stay
Private pool villas set amid golden rice paddies, with views of Doi Suthep beyond. The Four Seasons here is not a hotel — it is a working estate. Cooking classes, rice planting, sunrise yoga among the terraces.
Teak pavilions set on a hilltop where three countries meet. An on-site elephant camp — ethical and world-renowned — delivers an experience unlike any other in Thailand. Three-country views from every terrace.
A 60-acre Lanna palace — the most dramatic luxury property in northern Thailand. Replica temples, rice paddies, an archaeologically inspired spa. A living museum of the Lanna kingdom, entirely for guests.

Most nationalities receive a 30-day visa-on-arrival or e-Visa. Your SALA curator provides full pre-arrival documentation assistance and coordination with your properties.
