Most visitors spend a week in Thailand and see the surface — beautiful, yes, but surface. The same temples, the same beaches, the same hotel lobbies. They leave thinking they've experienced the country. They haven't.
SALA exists because we believe Thailand deserves more than that. We believe in the monk who paints at dawn and the fisherman who knows where the dolphins feed. In the chef who cooks for twelve people, not twelve hundred. In the temple that isn't in any guidebook.
We don't sell tours. We open doors — quietly, one at a time — into a Thailand that rewards patience, curiosity, and the willingness to go deeper.
The Founders
Born From Passion, Built With Care
SALA was founded in Bangkok in 2019 by a small team of Thailand specialists — expats and Thai nationals who had spent years inside the country's luxury travel industry and found it wanting. The first decision we made was to turn down every group-tour commission that came our way. The second was to design only journeys we would take ourselves.
We speak Thai. We know the hotel general managers by name. We have eaten at every street stall we recommend and slept in every suite we suggest. We have driven the mountain roads in the north at five in the morning and crossed the Gulf on a boat too small for comfort, because that is the only way to know where you're sending someone.
This is not a business built on scale. It is built on depth — and on the conviction that the most luxurious thing a journey can offer is the feeling of being genuinely known by the people who designed it.
