The Journey
A setting that does half the work
Thailand is arguably the world's capital for this kind of travel, and in recent years the demand has shifted — away from a week of treatments bolted onto a normal holiday and towards something built around privacy, setting, and rest that is actually protected rather than promised. This journey opens on Bang Krachao, a forested river island a few kilometres from central Bangkok reached only by longtail boat — no roads wide enough for cars, no traffic, just canals and old orchards. That change of pace happens before a single treatment begins.
From there, your own pavilion and therapist are held for the week rather than booked session by session, mornings offer a genuine choice of movement — muay Thai conditioning, a guided walk, restorative or yin yoga — and afternoons are deliberately left open. A sleep protocol, integrative diagnostics, and a separate Thai traditional medicine assessment sit underneath the programme without dominating it, and meals are drawn from Thailand's own herbal traditions rather than an imported "clean eating" menu. A quiet Bangkok bookend opens and closes the week, so the transition into and out of the programme is not abrupt.
"Seven nights is the floor, not the target. Ask for longer if you can find it."

Day by Day
Your Private Itinerary
This is a nine-night framework built around a minimum stay of seven — your SALA curator adjusts length and pace to what your diagnostics call for.
Bangkok
A quiet first night in the city before the programme begins — no clinic, no schedule, just the questionnaire, a briefing on the week ahead, and an early night
Days 1 – 2
Arrival & Settling In
Bangkok
A private transfer meets you at Suvarnabhumi and takes you to a quiet riverside hotel for one night before the programme proper begins — deliberately not straight to the island. Before dinner, a video call with the physician who will lead your week runs through the health questionnaire completed in advance and sets out, in plain terms, what the coming days will and will not involve. There is no bloodwork today and nothing to attend. The point of this first night is simply to arrive properly, sleep off the flight, and let the week ahead start from rest rather than a rush.
- Private airport transfer and one night at a Bangkok riverside hotel
- Pre-programme video consultation with your lead physician
- Review of health history and what the week ahead will involve
- Quiet dinner — nothing scheduled, no obligation to be anywhere

The Island, the Pavilion, and What the Diagnostics Find
Bang Krachao, Bangkok
A private longtail crosses the river to Bang Krachao, the forested peninsula known as Bangkok's green lung — no roads wide enough for cars, no traffic, just canals and old orchards a few kilometres from the city that produced them. This is the setting doing real work: the change in pace is immediate, before a single treatment has begun. Your own pavilion and therapist are assigned for the week, not booked session by session, and treatment times are built around you rather than a spa schedule. The first full day is diagnostic — a blood panel, body composition scan, and cardiovascular screening, read by an integrative physician alongside a separate pulse and structural reading from a Thai traditional medicine practitioner, the two compared rather than run in isolation. A sleep-tracking device is fitted before the first night, and a nutrition plan is drawn up from Thailand's own herbal traditions rather than a generic "clean eating" menu.
- Private longtail crossing to Bang Krachao
- A private pavilion and a single therapist assigned for the week
- Diagnostic consultation — blood panel, body composition scan, cardiovascular screening
- Separate pulse diagnosis and structural assessment with a Thai traditional medicine practitioner
- Therapeutic Thai massage in your own pavilion, timed around you rather than a spa slot
- Sleep-tracking device fitted and a Thai nutrition plan set

Movement in the Morning, Nothing in the Afternoon
Bang Krachao, Bangkok
Mornings open with a choice rather than a class list: muay Thai conditioning set to your own level, a guided walk through the island's canal-side orchards with a teacher who knows the paths, or restorative and yin yoga on the pavilion terrace. By early afternoon the programme deliberately empties out. Nothing is scheduled, nothing requires you, and the sleep protocol from day three is adjusted each evening against what the tracker actually shows rather than a fixed routine. This is the stretch that separates a reset from a spa holiday — guests who arrive exhausted are not immediately put to work, and the afternoons are built to be genuinely idle. Meditation with a teacher runs most evenings for those who want it and is skipped without comment by those who don't. Meals follow the nutrition plan set on day three.
- Muay Thai conditioning, guided walk, or restorative yoga — one choice, most mornings
- Afternoons deliberately left open — no obligation to attend anything
- Evening meditation with a teacher, optional
- Sleep protocol reviewed and adjusted nightly against tracked data
- Meals built from the Thai nutrition plan set on day three

Days 8 – 9
Integration & Departure
Bangkok
A private transfer returns you to Bangkok for a closing consultation, where your physician reviews the week's findings against the diagnostics taken on arrival and sets out, in writing, how to carry the sleep, movement, and nutrition habits home. This is deliberately not left as a verbal summary on the way to the airport — it is a document you take with you. A final quiet dinner at a heritage riverside hotel closes the journey before your private transfer to the airport.
- Private transfer back to central Bangkok
- Closing consultation and written take-home plan
- Optional visit to a Bangkok herbal pharmacy tied to the traditional medicine programme
- Private departure transfer to the airport
