The very first boats out at dawn, dry season (November to April), specifically timed to beat the tour-boat convoys that dominate the bay by mid-morning.
What to Expect
The same limestone karst scenery as the bay's famous James Bond Island viewpoint, but reached and left before the water fills with the dozens of day-tour longtails and speedboats that converge there daily. A kayak-based or small private-boat approach reaches narrower mangrove channels the larger tour boats can't enter at all.
How to Prepare
This trip is worth paying more for a smaller operator or private charter specifically because the value is in the timing and boat size, not just the destination. Reef-safe sunscreen and a hat matter on open water with no shade for most of the route.
