Best Time to Do This
Dry season (December to August) for calm paddling conditions; morning departures avoid the stronger winds that can build over the archipelago's open water by afternoon.
What to Expect
Sea-kayaking through Ang Thong's limestone island channels and into hidden lagoons that larger tour boats can't reach at all — some islands here have an internal saltwater lagoon reachable only by kayak or a short swim through a cave opening at low tide.
How to Prepare
Basic swimming ability matters, since some of the park's best features require a short swim through partially submerged cave openings. A dry bag for anything you don't want to get wet is essential — kayaks take spray and the occasional capsize is normal in a group.
